Most new Samsung devices whether it be your LCD or Plasma TV, DVD and Blu-Ray Players/Recorder or Home Cinema System come with Allshare built in. This allows content stored on a PC to be directly streamed to your device…..sound familiar?
Indeed you can now enjoy movies, music and photos from your PC and other mobile devices, right on your device.
With Samsung’s Allshare (powered by DLNA) you can wirelessly (Samsung LAN adaptor required) sync your PC and Samsung mobile phone with your Blu-ray player, streaming content and even keeping tabs on who’s calling and texting you with real-time monitoring on your screen.
DLNA can be complicated but Allshare makes streaming your music and videos incredibly easy, almost idiot proof in fact.
Allshare may be built into Samsung’s TVs and Blu-Ray players but it is also built into their latest phones and tablet devices mostly on the Galaxy line such as the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Tab with many new Allshare features being designed for the new phone and tablet devices.
Features of AllShare include Screen Share which allows you to stream what is on you TV directly to your Galaxy Tab (or Galaxy S), you can even change the TV input source using the Tab. At the moment in order to do this you’ll need a Samsung D7000 or D8000 LED 3D TV model.
Zone Share, another new feature lets you set contexts for the Samsung Galaxy Tab. For instance, using accelerometers, it’ll automatically pop up with the Samsung TV on screen remote when face down, but when it detects motion as you walk away, it moves the TV picture over to the tablet, and turns the TV off.
It has to be said that many AllShare enabled devices are some of the most complete DLNA devices on the market in terms of their codec and file type support. If you are looking to create a DLNA home network, AllShare may be the way to go in terms of cost functionality and features.
