Here in Soundwave towers we do include a lot of Blu-Ray players which include several features. I’m sure sometimes you’ll glance at the technical details or even the title and go “wtf is that???” we have explained one or two on here, Allshare and Anynet+ from Samsung as an example but one that is cropping up more and more is VIERA Cast from Panasonic. So what is it? Well believe it or not, it’s been around since 2008, it is a Smart TV platform that allows the streaming of multimedia content into certain Panasonic VIERA HDTVs and Blu-Ray machines. Most VIERA Cast machines now also include Netflix and Skype to add to the multimedia experience. Not only that but of course VIERA machines have a built in Ethernet interface with later models also including WiFi capability.
Now we’ve introduced you to VIERA Cast, here’s the bad news. As we’re so cutting edge, we’ve left it until it is due to be replaced by VIERA Connect to tell you about it! Yes this will be happening in the not too distant future so look our for their new range which will no doubt be included here. As for VIERA Cast, well there are still plenty of machines out there and as it is being phased out, expect the price to drop significantly over the next year or so as the new technology takes over.
