Seeing as this site is called Hard Drive DVD Recorder Tech News, it’s about time I put some content in here that covered hard drive dvd recorders. There are a multitude of these machines available but which one to buy? After looking at a few, I came across this one, the LG DR275 and while it’s not the most pleasing on the eye, apparently one of the greenest (not in colour!) machines around.
When in use, it uses 17W of power and 1W when in standby mode. We would all like to think that we are doing our bit to try and save the planet and with everyone seemingly wanting to know their carbon footprint. If you want to know, it creates 16.01 KgCO2 Per Year. It costs around 3p per day to run which translates to about £9.22 per year (if you’re with e-on, other providers may vary) and £1.63 per year in standby. As we’re mostly quite lazy and tend to leave devices on standby even though those science boffins keep telling us to be good little boys and girls and switch them off at the mains, that’s quite a saving. So ok we now get that it’s relatively eco-friendly compared to it’s counterparts from the likes on Sony, Samsung etc but what about the features you’re really interested in?

To be honest it’s probably not the most cutting edge machine out there but it does the job and for a very good price too plus you’re getting a reputable brand in LG so it’s bound to be top quality and with all it’s eco-friendly attributes, you’re saving the planet as well, not bad!
